Roll out the map and mark it with a pin

Let me tell you about one of my favorite places on earth - Boracay. So far I have been there three times for christmas and new years and every time has been just as wonderful. When I get to think of it my chest aches and I have to remind myself of how lucky I am to have even been there once.

Boracay is where the beach seems to be endless (5 km to be exact) and the sea is turquoise

Boracay is where the sunsets are breathtaking

Boracay is where you can climb in the palm trees on the beach just because there is nothing much else to do when you're nine

Boracay is where every new person you meet is your friend because that is who you'll meet every night until you go home.

Dear Santa

Went to Stockholm this weekend and fell in love. In the city ofcourse. (Not that I think you would suspect otherwise...). Had a fantastic tour around town saturday with my excellent guide Erika and visited a store called Grandpa. Found the most adorable things, but am sorry to say they were a wee bit too expensive for me. Think they would complement my wardrobe in the most exquisite way though. Please take my wishes into consideration...

1. A sweater to keep me warm

2. A dress to make me happy when life is treating me cruel

3. A pair of shoes to take care of my sore feet after a long day at work

Yours sincerely/ Frida

Stage

When I was 10 I decided to become a musical actor. I loved to dance and sing and perform. Sadly my dance teacher quit a few years later and I didn't like the new one. So I quit dancing and put my dreams aside. Everytime I think about it now though my belly is filled with butterflies and I can't stop smiling, I feel as if that is what I'm supposed to do. Whenever I see a musical I most of all feel jealous. It's as if that is all I ever wanted to be and that is where I would feel happy. Sadly I will never be a musical actor and I will probably never stop regreting that I quit dancing either.

Autumn

Today my brother and his girlfriend made a surprise visit in the afternoon. We drank tea, ate cupcakes I baked yesterday, and talked about spring in Indonesia.

Commes des Garcons

I haven't been a huge fan of H&M's recent designer campaigns, this one though I find interesting. Commes des Garcons' collection for H&M is truly tastefull. Haven't had a look at it until today, since every collection I have seen so far of H&M's designer campaigns have been hidious, but I really like what I see this time. Would have loved the trenchcoat and any of the jackets.

Frost

Two of my favorite things in nature are dew and frost. This morning, as I was going back to Borås from my hometown Alingsås after celebrating my younger brother's birthday, there were frost everywhere. It is such a beautiful thing making the whole world look sparkling and delicate. And so now it's official - the winter has come to Sweden. I am now looking forward to many walks in the beautiful winter landscape and even more cold cheeks.

Violin

When I was younger I used to play the violin. I played it for 10 years and even had music as my major in high school (or at least the equivalent to it in Sweden). Nowadays I don't play as much sadly. But even if I rarely pick it up anymore, the few times I do it makes me feel alive. It's a strange feeling, like the instrument being an extended part of yourself. If you have ever played an instrument you might understand what I'm talking about. The feeling of being able to express your thoughts trough something else than your mouth. All of these feelings together with the fact that a violin is a beautiful instruments always gives me cravings when I see one for sale. I want to pick it up and feel the wood and see the beautiful handicraft. If I only had 10 000 SEK on my bank account...

Every morning I wake up to watch you eat

On my way to work. They rang one hour ago needing help. Hope you'll all have a nice cosy evening. Looking forward to a cup of tea and another episode of True Blood when I get home.

Vampires

The new hot thing this autumn is vampires. They are everywhere. There are at least two Swedish movies running on the cinemas. I have been a bit suspicious, thinking I probably would not like it. Surely I liked Buffy the vampire slayer when I was younger, but that was a while ago and things have changed. Yesterday though I was talking to my friend, Helena, about a new show called True Blood and she was really thrilled about it. So when I got home I decided to give it a shot. And I have to say I love it. It's my new obsession. Have downloaded every single episode that has been shown in USA to watch and I just can't seem to get enough. I truly recommend it.

Sonia Rykiel

When looking around on the internet I came upon a picture of this wonderful looking girl. Love the combination of her outfit together with her redish features. Once I took a closer look at it I immediately recognized the playsuit from Sonia Rykiel's SS08 collection (didn't think I was such a nerd, but now I know). When I saw it then I just though it looked kind of silly, but now that I see it worn (in the right way?) by someone who's not a super skinny model I like it a lot and almost get cravings.

Leanimal

Since I'm not in a fashionable state right now, studying for my first exam this autumn, I am instead posting a dress made by the winner of Project Runway - Leanne!
She was my favorite from day one and I guess she was many other's favorite as well since I found out today she is selling her designs at etsy and every single piece is sold out!
Just look at this dress and you will see what I mean...

So tired of wishing you were still here

I have been thinking back and forth about the glasses. Can't make up my mind and I have to return them today! So I'm posting pictures of them here, hoping you'll give me a comment about what you think. And even if I don't get the time to read the comments before I make up my mind I can at least see if I made the right choice.

Paul Frank "Drag Race to Freedom"

Paul Frank "Transistor"

Oh, that's right! I cut my hair a couple of weeks ago! Got so sick and tired of the old hairdo and decided to take a shot so I cut myself. Quite satisfied actually. Like myself in short hair much better.

Drag Race For Freedom

I have been looking for the perfect glasses for a long time and now I finally think I have found them. Am going to the store tomorrow to borrow them and a couple of others for friends to look at. If I had them here this is what I would have loved to wear:

Glasses: Paul Frank "Drag Race for Freedom"
Dress: Acne
Boots: Minimarket
Scarf: Hope

I will probably show you images of the glasses as soon as I have been there to borrow them and try them on.

Autumn/Winter = Cold

I need this coat. Can someone please give me 3500 sek as charity?

Warsaw

Once again I'm posting a picture of a guy. But I have to say that nowadays I am more inspired by the way men dress than the way women dress. I find men explore shapes more than women. Maybe you disagree - tell me. Prove me wrong.

Oh No.

Where have I seen that bathingsuit before? Oh yes, it was in the early 90's together with the workout videos. Pleeeease spare us from having to deal with the sight of that on the beach all summer next year. Yucky. I am sad to say it's from the s/s 09 collection by one of my favorite designers, whom I've been writing about before, Hussein Chalayan.

Love is when someone you trust cuts a smile in your face

Sometimes I wish I dressed and looked in a different way. That I had a different style. My own style can bore me to death from time to time. Right now I wish I looked like Leanne in Project Runway season 5. Or like this:

my favorite book

A lot of things are going on right now, both in my head and around me. Most of them I don't want to write down here which is why I rarely post anything at all these days. One thing I am constantly reminded of is how much I love my friends. They are always there when I need them the most and they are always there to lift me up when I fall. They never tell me the decisions I made was stupid even though I know they were and they support me in whatever situation I have put myself in.
So, thank you for being there. My life wouldn't have been the same without you.

kattunge

Today on my way home from work (about 10 pm) I found a kitten right next to the road and a few meters from the railway. No mother could be seen and it just sat there screaming for attention. What was I to do? After some laps back and forth, thinking I should take it home one minute and the next thinking I can't take care of a kitten, I finally decided what to do. Suddently I was standing outside my door holding the tiny little thing in my arms. I must be crazy. But right now as its laying right beside me in the bed sleeping I feel like I did the right thing. Just hope I can find a home for the poor thing tomorrow. Since I don't want to awaken it I can't get out of bed to get my camera, so you'll just have to settle for this picture I found on the internet. It looks very similar though. Almost as tiny and with a blackish brown fur. I promise to update tomorrow when I know what will happen to it.

---------------------------------------------------------------

The kitten is hopefully back where it belongs. Went back to the place where I found it this morning after talking to a man at a animal rescue centre. If it doesn't find it's way home I have at least done what I could at the moment (even more since we are not allowed to have animals in our apartments). Hope you'll live a happy life kitten.

would you feel anything at all?

I am REALLY bad at this! Have to start planning my time. Maybe if I wrote down that I should post it would happen more often...

Came home from Malmö sunday and went to my brother yesterday to have a chat and drink some tea. We ended up going to the premier evening at the student pub to look at the new students. Saw some cool people I have to talk to during this year (it's my delayed new year's resolution).

The week in Malmö was great. Met some of my friends and looked at some bands playing. Wish I didn't have to go back. But that's life.

Right now I am trying to find motivation in my surroundings. Was thinking about maybe taking a french course. Could be nice having something else to think about during the afternoons.

Anyway, since I don't have anything smart to write I think I'll stop now. Immediately. Before you get even more bored.

France Gall

French pop from the 60's has been a weakness of mine for a long time. But today I finally decided to explore it a bit. What I found was this beautifull woman/girl singing the most delicious songs.

listen, watch, and enjoy

Malmö

More and more often I wonder if moving from Malmö was the biggest mistake of my life so far. I miss my room, the streets I used to wander, the cafés, the stores, the atmosphere and the life I used to live there. The sad thing about growing old is that you constantly have to think about the future. What you want to do with your life and where you can see yourself in a few years. For me school was the conclusive factor. I had to move somewhere where I could get the education I needed for the job I wanted in the future. And so the Swedish school of textiles in Borås was my choice. Unfortunately that wasn't where I ended up, but at another department at the university college of Borås, the department where you become an economist. I don't regret that choice since I'm very happy with my education, but I dearly miss my Malmö. Almost every day.

Monday I will be going there visiting my friends and the apartment I used to live in. Can't wait.
