figure drawing for fashion design

Yep, I'm hooked. Have been more focused on my drawing than what the teachers have told me in school the last couple of days and this is what my notebook looks like now:

Outfit

Today I went to town to meet by brother and have a coffee. We ended up doing some shopping at the final sale. I bought one top, one t-shirt, and one shirt by Velour and one cardigan by By Malene Birger. All in all it cost me 650 sek - a bargain.

figure drawing for fashion design

Yesterday I bought a book in the student bookshop. It was a book on how to draw fashion sketches. Today I decided was the day I was going to learn how to. So after school I bought a sketch book and some pencils. This is what I've created so far:

I still have a few (ok. not that few, but still...) details to work on but I'll get there. Someday.

Men's fashion A/W 08

Lately I have heard a lot of complaints from my friends about the men's fashion. They say that nothing ever happens and the clothes look the same every year. I have to say though that it looks like things will be the opposite this autumn/winter. Every show I've seen this far has been filled with amazing clothes. For men.

A garnment that is seen repeatedly is the jacket. It is seen in a variety of shapes, colours, and fabrics. My personal favourite is the short one though because it feels like a fresh breeze that is more than welcome to the men's fashion.

Outfit

As my tooth almost killed me last night I haven't slept nearly enough. Which is why I'm not in a very good mood today. So please, be nice.

Filippa K, A/W 08

Filippa K has designed a collection with no big surprises. Except one. Where did they get this idea from?

White Light Party

On saturday I'm going to a party in Malmoe called White Light Party. At this party you must be dressed all in white, which is a brilliant idea since it's a theme party but you still don't have to dress as if you are going to a masquerade. Or I mean, it would have been a brilliand idea if I only had any white clothes. Yes, I have got a couple of tops in white but no bottoms. White is a colour I rarely use because I think it's a way too light colour. I thought though that the stylists surely had some suggestions on how to mix it.... with other white clothes.

Maybe I should take the dress code literally and follow Hussein Chalayans example?
